Activation Criteria

SRT may activate if any of the following criteria are met:

• You have to be requested by a unit to activate, and you have to follow the ‘’Type of calls’’ section.

• Barricaded suspect(s)

• Hostage situations

• Drug busts, sting operations, etc.

• Assistance requested by investigative units such as Marshalls or LSPD CID for other investigations

• Terrorism-related or active killing incidents

• Situations requiring resources beyond the capacity of the patrol division

• Any other call where you think SRT is needed (use common sense)

As an SRT deputy you are not allowed to sit in PD, also known as on "stand-by". You are only to activate if requested, and if the activation criteria are met.
