Procedure of arriving on scene

When arriving on a scene you want to establish the following things in the exact same order

  • Take control of the scene if no tactical command is established. Speak to the active scene command.

  • Get to know what is currently going on at the scene, and communicate along with LEO on the scene to find out what to further do.

  • Establish communication with suspects, you always want to negotiate with suspects before entering a building to set up for a tactical breach. The only exception is if there is a building breach where a warrant has been granted (you have to yell out ‘’BCSO SRT, we have a warrant’’ when entering)

  • If the negotiating fails you may enter the building. Negotiation failing would happen when A) a suspect shoots a hostage (may continue if they have multiple hostages that you want to save safely) B) the suspect(s) say clearly that they do not wish to negotiate and starts shooting at LEO
